The Friends:
Preserving and enhancing a community treasure

In over a century of park history, Kletzsch has never seen tougher times than it endures today. The first job of the Friends is to counter years of budget shortfalls by restoring the park to its traditional beauty and bringing back the services residents once took for granted. Restoration is only the beginning. The Friends are busily laying the organizational foundation for growth...and inviting community members to take a part in their park’s future.

Awareness- Generating new public awareness of the park, its challenges and future opportunities

Vision- Building a clear mission for the park’s future, including a set of achievable action plans to enhance the park’s value as a community resource for years to come

Improvements- enhancements in the park’s range of recreational options, and new features that will strengthen Kletzsch’s value as a community gathering place

Preservation- Careful restoration of historic park features to preserve them for future generations

Events- Activities and public events that will reinforce the value of Kletzsch Park as a focus of community activity, as well as a peaceful respite from the stresses of city life
