KLETZSCH PARK CLEANUP

Join the Friends of Kletzsch Park and the Milwaukee Riverkeeper organization in a joint spring cleanup on Saturday, April 20, 2013. Meet at the Kletzsch Park Pavilion located at 6560 N. Milwaukee River Parkway at 8:30 AM to register and pick up supplies for the 9:00 AM to noon cleanup. You can register ahead of time at MilwaukeeRiverkeeperCleanup.org. There will be redeemable coupons, t-shirts (limited number and sizes) and free raffle prizes. Volunteers can participate in a TRASH BASH, free food and drink, at Hoyt Pool Grand Hall, 1800 N. Swan Blvd., Wauwatosa from 12:30 to 3:00 PM. Dress for cleanup work since it will go on rain or shine.

GARLIC MUSTARD CONTROL

We need your help every Saturday in May from 9:00 AM to noon to carry out our annual battle against this invasive plant. Wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather conditions. Come to the Kletzsch Park Pavilion, 6560 N. Milwaukee River Parkway. This healthful activity benefits the wildflowers such as Mayapple, Trilliums and Violets. Your reward is seeing them bloom.

BIRD & FLOWER WALK

Kletzsch Park is a natural flyway for migrating birds and is frequented by birders. Mark Feider, one of the areas' top birders, will again lead the walk. He has equipment to play bird calls, which attracts birds to be viewed. We can stop to view flowers or anything of interest. Bring bird and/or flower guides if you have them. Dress for the weather with hiking shoes. Meet at the Acorn Lounge of the Kletzsch Park Pavilion, 6560 N. Milwaukee River Parkway, at 7:30 AM on Sunday, May 19, 2013. We will hike until 9:30 AM. Only a violent storm will stop us. Mark your calendar.
