Join us in preserving, protecting and enhancing this very special place!
Why join the Friends? County funding for the parks has decreased substantially over the years. Current budges cannont adquately support programs or a sufficent level of maintenance for buildings and other infrastructure.
A Friends group is formed as an advocate to work on issues related to "their" park. Friends groups can:
- Help fill some of the funding voids by lending their assistance
- Provide desperately needed help in controlling invasive species, which threaten our native wildflowers and other plants
- Assist with developing tools to engage the public in the rich history and current resources of the park
Friends of Kletzsch Park would like to pursue a number of projects in the park. Our long term goals will be to:
- Preserve the integrity of the natural resources that make the park so special
- Honor its rich heritage by telling the story of those who came before us
- Celebrate this special place by ensuring adequate facilities for recreation and relaxation
Benefits of membership
- Invitations to special events such as bird and wildflower walks, weed-outs, clean-ups, history talks and others
- Newsletter
- Forum for discussion and support for the park
- Cameraderie with other Kletzsch Park enthusiasts
- The pleasure of sharing in the stewardship for one of our local treasures
